Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy helps children improve their fine motor skills, sensory processing, and ability to complete daily tasks. This therapy fosters independence in activities like dressing, writing, and eating.
Signs Your Child
Could Benefit
Children may benefit from occupational therapy if they have challenges with fine motor skills, such as using utensils or writing, experience sensory sensitivities or seek out sensory input, or have difficulty with everyday self-care tasks like dressing or brushing their teeth.
Signs your child could benefit from music therapy include, but are not limited to:
🔹 Difficulty expressing emotions or communicating
🔹 Trouble with attention, focus, or transitions
🔹 Challenges with motor coordination or movement
🔹 Limited engagement in play or social interaction
🔹 Needing extra support for emotional regulation or coping skills
What To Expect
In occupational therapy, sessions are designed to be engaging, purposeful, and tailored to each child’s unique needs. Therapists use play-based activities to target important developmental skills such as fine motor coordination, sensory processing, and independence in daily routines. These activities might include tasks like grasping toys, navigating obstacle courses, or practicing self-care skills such as feeding or dressing. Each session focuses on building confidence and helping children participate more fully in their daily lives, at home, in school, and in the community.
